Trace Adkins brought his baritone, a 12-piece band and a rendition of 'O Tannenbaum' to 'TODAY' on Thursday morning (Nov. 21). With just about a month until Christmas, Adkins' appearance was a festive way to get people excited about the upcoming holidays.

It was a subtle and subdued performance, as Adkins' deep voice bellowed alongside a lovely, ethereal female voice. It sure felt a lot like Christmas while he was on the stage.

The singer did a very short interview with 'TODAY' show hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb before taking the stage, talking about the origin of Celtic music. He even joked that next time he comes to the show, they can't talk as long. Zing! His comment had Kathie Lee and Hoda doubled over with laughter. Leave it to Trace Adkins to call it like he sees it.

Even with a truncated interview segment, Adkins' performance was full of holiday spirit. It was enough to make you want to head out and starting looking at Christmas trees while drinking a steaming mug of hot chocolate.

Adkins is currently on his Trace Adkins Presents the Christmas Show Tour, having just released his 'The King's Gift' holiday album independently.
