BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A third proposal to revise Idaho's concealed carry laws — this time safekeeping Idaho's permit exemption for public and elected officials — will be resubmitted in front of a House committee.

Republican Rep. Judy Boyle of Midvale tells the Idaho Statesman in a story on Tuesday that a prior proposal removing the exemption would have failed before the House State Affairs Committee. Current Idaho law allows city, county, state and U.S. officials and all elected officials to carry concealed guns without a permit.

Boyle added that bill-drafters are revising the bill and will re-appear before the House panel soon. The bill comes after the House State Affairs Committee spent several hours listening to testimony on the prior concealed carry legislation.
