I have had more friends than I can count share this Ultimate Road Trip map. Basically, it's a multiple week tour of the entire country. As you can see, it's a pretty spectacular trip, but it only includes one stop in Idaho. You'll never guess what location in our state is worthy of a stop.

Craters of the Moon is the only place in Idaho that qualifies for this ultimate road trip according to Randaolson.com. No offense intended to Craters of the Moon, but what were these people thinking and/or smoking?

First of all, there are several alternate stops that could be made without modifying this map much. If it were me, I would adjust the northern path to include the Sandpoint, Idaho area around the huge lake up there.

On the southern swing, I would route Twin Falls in after Salt Lake City. Yes, this is a selfish Twin Falls person talking, but you get the Perrine Bridge and Shoshone Falls here. We are the perfect 2-for-1 deal.

Looking at the overall trip, there are some no-brainer stops like the Grand Canyon and Glacier National Park. But, why in the world would you go out of your way to see Detroit? Your vehicle of choice would likely be without hub caps after that stop.

Does this trip look good to you? If you could, how would you change it?
