The Sims 4 Not to Have Pools or Toddler Developmental Stage, says EA Maxis

It's a dark day for fans who were planning to build pools, drop a character in there, and remove its exits in The Sims 4.

It looks like The Sims 4 won't be letting its world creators and players build pools or play as toddlers, Polygon reports. EA Maxis claims that its brand new Build Mode has been drastically changed from the last version of The Sims and certain cuts had to have been made for the sake of adding new features.

"It's not possible for us to include every single feature and piece of content we added to The Sims 3 over the last five years," said Ryan Vaughan, a producer at Maxis. "While we recognize that some of you will be disappointed that pools and toddlers won't be available when The Sims 4 Base Game launches in September, you should know that we're building an incredibly strong foundation that is capable of fulfilling every one of your desires in the years to come."

The toddler phase of development, which appeared in The Sims 2 and 3, has been cut from the fourth title. While we're unsure why toddlers were removed, we have a feeling that pools were removed for a more specific reason.

Many builders created pools and removed its exits while their characters were inside, leaving them confined in the water until they drowned. Think the ending of 'The Prestige,' but without the twins or the magic. Of course, thousands of gamers online have been recently hounding Maxis to bring back pools so they can get their drown-on.

The Sims 4 is set to debut this fall for PC.
