Ever wonder what The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time would look like if it was rebuilt using the engine of the SNES' A Link to the Past? This fan-made project takes one of the greatest games of all time and remakes it in the style of... one of the greatest games of all time.

The folks at OoT 2D are remaking The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time in the style of A Link to the Past, Zelda Informer reports. Ocarina of Time 2D recently had some footage posted on YouTuber Cheerful Sage's account depicting its gameplay. We get to see Ocarina's introductory sequences from Kokiri Forest remade on the Link to the Past engine. Watch as Link dodges rolling boulders to get the Kokiri Sword. You even get to see him talk to the Great Deku Tree, as the forest spirit explains the creation of 2D Hyrule and the Triforce. Lastly, we get to see Link play his iconic Ocarina.

Ocarina of Time 2D aims to remake every cutscene, character and dungeon from the original game using the 16-bit style of the SNES. You can check out a demo of the game on its official website. We really hope Nintendo doesn't shut down this amazing fan project.

This remake better start off with 2D Link sleeping.
