Ryunosuke Naruhodo is going to undergo a study in scarlet thanks to the appearance of Sherlock Holmes and Watson in The Great Ace Attorney.

According to CVG, Phoenix Wright's ancestor will cross paths with the famous detective from 221B Baker Street, Sherlock Holmes, and his trusted colleague, Watson. But judging by the silhouettes above, Watson will take the form of an 8-year-old girl.

The Great Ace Attorney will be set in Japan's Meiji Era, which ran from 1868-1912. Since the Sherlock Holmes stories written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle cover events from 1880 to 1914, it wouldn't be outside the realm of fictional possibility to see these two characters in a courtroom in Japan. According to series creator and director Shu Takumi, vibes and gameplay in this game "will be quite different from all the other Ace Attorney games up until now."

Not much is known about the title and what kind of role Sherlock Holmes and the young Watson will play in the proceedings, but we'll update you once more information is made available.
