If you were looking forward to getting a crew together and racing across America with your crew in Ubisoft's upcoming racer called The Crew, it seems you and your crew will have to wait a little bit longer.

Ubisoft has announced via their blog that the ambitious racing title is now launching December 2, a four-week delay from its original release date of November 11. The blog states that while the game is being delayed, "there’s a good reason for the small delay. It’s because the teams at Ivory Tower and Ubisoft Reflections are listening to all of you. In fact, a second console closed beta is planned for November, giving players another opportunity to jump into The Crew ahead of its release and help shape the game."

So while the game won't be making the original release date, there will be another beta to help test whatever changes Ubisoft plans to make between now and then. That's not a bad compromise, actually, as most delayed games are just delayed and that's it. At least here the blow is softened with a beta to play around with. Hopefully that beta won't be closed so we actually can partake in it, but that remains to be seen.

The Crew now launches Dec. 2, 2014 on Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, and PC.
