The Cost of Living ‘Big’ Today

Big Movie
20th Century Fox

Have you ever found yourself watching the classic comedy ‘Big‘ and wondered to no one in particular (or possibly your cat) how much it would cost to live like Tom Hanks’ character? Well, we also wondered that, and decided to break down his awesome apartment in terms of today’s costs.

Back in 1988 when the movie was released, it was conceivable that a product tester at a toy company could live as large as adult Josh Baskin does. But today, even Robert Loggia’s MacMillan toys CEO probably couldn’t afford a humungoid loft in Soho or Tribeca or wherever Josh’s palace of fun was supposed to be.

Take a look at how much it would cost to live ‘Big’ today.
