Though Taylor Swift has the country genre locked down, she’s certainly no stranger to other popular music. Swift, who surprised audiences on her Speak Now Tour with guests Nicki Minaj, T.I., Flo Rida and Usher, keeps up on hit music. Now, the country superstar is set to make a guest appearance on B.o.B.‘s sophomore release ‘Strange Clouds,’ which hits store shelves May 1, according to Rap-Up.com.

The hip-hop king famously collaborated with Hayley Williams of Paramore for his 2010 song ‘Airplanes’ from his debut release, ‘B.o.B. Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray.’ When asked about the rumors of his collaboration with the blond country goddess, B.o.B. wasn’t giving away anything.

“I can’t discredit nor confirm the rumor,” he offered, adding, “Once it’s began, it’s begun and it will take its course.” If the rumors prove true, it won’t be the first cross-genre mash-up these two have done. The rapper says Swift called him up last fall to perform ‘Airplanes’ with her while on tour.

“She actually got my number from Hayley, and she hit me up and was like, ‘Hey Bob, I know this is kind of random, but it’s Taylor Swift,’” he remembers. “So I’m like, ‘What?’ ‘Yeah, I’m coming out to Atlanta and I hear you’re gonna be in Atlanta and I wanna bring you out.’”

B.o.B. wasn’t able to make that show because he was already booked, but he did later take the stage with her in Dallas, and he says he was impressed by her die-hard fans and her connection with her audience. Apparently, he didn’t forget those qualities when hitting the studio for ‘Strange Clouds.’

“She’s America’s sweetheart, a real genuine person,” he says. B.o.B. released his first single from the record, the title track featuring Lil Wayne, in September. His full record will also feature collaborations with several other artists, including André 3000, T.I., Jim Jonsin and Polow Da Don.
