Carla Chapman, a 47-year-old resident of Plant City, FL, was tending to her garden when all of a sudden the ground swallowed her up into a giant sinkhole, measuring 25 in. wide and 7 ft. deep.

Within a matter of seconds, her 5' 7'' frame was fully submerged underground and there was no way she could maneuver out of the hole by herself.

Woman Pitches Batting Practice For The Cleveland Indians

Justine Siegal threw batting practice at the Cleveland Indians' spring training facility in Goodyear, Arizona, marking the first time a woman has ever performed this task.

She will pitch batting practice again today, this time for the Oakland A's.

This isn't the first time the 36-year old has been a baseball gender pioneer -- in 2009 Siegal became the first woman to coach first base for a men's professional team when she did so for the Broxton Rox of the Canadian-American League. Read on to see her in action.

It was funny while it lasted. Remember the video of the goofy girl who's so busy trying to walk and text at the same time that she falls right into a mall fountain? The hilarious video went viral, and its pitiable star remained anonymous — until now.

Turns out, not only is she not a "girl" — she's 49 year-old woman Cathy Cruz Marrero, an employee at the mall — she's pissed off about the video hitting the web, and says she'll sue. "My issue is I don't think security was professional because they didn't send anyone to check on me until 20 minutes later and I had already left," she told local reporters.
