We have all been talking about the extreme low temperatures we are seeing in the Twin Falls area lately. Most of the talk I have heard has been negative, but today the cold temperatures came in really handy. I have recently ran out of room in all areas of my home including my freezer. With temperatures being in the single digits I think it is only reasonable to keep ice cream, chicken nuggets, juice and ice trays outside.

1. After all the hype, Hurricane Irene wasn't quite as devastating as the media had us expecting. There was flooding and at least $3 billion in damage . . . but this wasn't exactly "Katrina meets Manhattan."

Everywhere I go I am finding that people are just flat out mad about the weather. If you can't find common ground with someone you will at least agree that the weather in Southern Idaho lately has been terrible. This weekend I saw everything from flip flops in the rain to full on snow suits...even our wardrobes are confused. I mean, I am wearing sandals, cut-offs, and a fleece sweater today. There was a major thunderstorm that raged through New York City on Tuesday night. The rain came pouring down and the thunder slammed loudly throughout the night.

A lot of dogs were hiding under beds, children were scared, and adults were pretending not to be. The storm was so crazy that New York's most famous landmark, The Empire State Building, was struck by lightning at least three times -- and even cooler than that, it was caught on video!
