We all love the summer months, but let's face it, some days the heat is just too much to handle. But you don't have to retreat to your dark basement or camp out at the freezer section of the grocery store to stop the perspiration in its tracks. The Magic Valley has plenty of activities to do and places to visit that keep you out enjoying life without worrying about the overhanging threat of heat stroke.
It seems as though the road construction is keeping some of you from getting to the radio station. We thought we would try to help you map out a decent route to the station so you can claim your prizes that you've won in the VIP Club. Hit the jump and watch as we try to get back to the radio station.
According to a recent report by the city of Twin Falls, the Twin Falls police responded to an incredible 49,378 Calls for service in 2010. That's an increase of 3% from 2009 and up a whopping 24% from 2000.
What's the good news?
The Magic Valley Canine Social Club's proposal to put a dog park in the Oregon Trail Youth Complex was denied by the Parks and Recreation Department on Tuesday; however, the board was very positive about having a dog park in Twin Falls. The only question is, where to put it?
Leah Dow doesn't describe herself as special. If you ask any of her students, they would say otherwise. She is a teacher and a mother trying to raise her children and dreams of providing a safe, loving home for her family.
Finally! Summer is here, and I can hardly wait to make like a fish and swim to my little heart's content. And since the Magic Valley is situated over a plethora of geothermal wells and springs, hot springs resorts and pools are found in abundance along with a cold-water pool or two. Here are some of my favorite "swimming holes", and if there are some that are new to you, I'd encourage you to give them a try. They are all different and have their own unique aspects to offer.
Recently there have been articles featured on the web about "You Know You're From New Jersey When..." and we didn't want to be left out of the fun. The staff of 95.7 KEZJ, News Radio 1310 KLIX, KOOL 96.5, and 98.3 The Snake had a lot of fun putting this list together. This one is for the locals.
Silverhawk Aviation’s plan is simple: see some of the remarkable landmarks around Twin Falls from the air in a 25 minute helicopter tour. On Friday, May 20th, 95.7 KEZJ’s Terry Morgan, KOOL 96.5’s Nate Bird, and 98.3 The Snake’s Kendra Wolfe got to do just that.
Summer is upon us, and you know, the old adage is very true: All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. To keep your Jack and Jill happy, healthy, and from repeating the dreaded phrase, "I'm bored!" all summer long, we've comprised a list of the best playgrounds in town. If you're one to visit the same park every week because it's conveniently located just down the street, give a new one a try. It'll keep things interesting and provide your little ones with the opportunity to stretch their horizons.
So your best friend's big day is just around the corner. Kudos for her! But before the ring slips on she must have fun with her girlfriends! And Twin Falls is full of places to let her hair down and go crazy and wild one last time before her fairy tale wedding. It's very stressful planning a wedding: finding the perfect dress, dealing with drama between you bridesmaids, hunting down flowers that are just the right shade, reprinting address labels three times so her announcements look flawless, and on and on and on. Believe me, girls, she deserves a night out on the town, one to relax, one to forget about all these things that make her want to pull her hair out, and probably most importantly, one to do all the things that she's too embarrassed to do in front of her fiancé because she's afraid he'll change his mind. So plan a night for her to let go, have a good time, and remind her that no matter what happens, her wedding will be perfect because he will be standing beside her.
The USA Victory Rally hosted by News Radio 1310 KLIX, 98.3 The Snake, KOOL 96.5, and 95.7 KEZJ had a turnout of approximately 60 people all eager and ready to celebrate the death of Osama Bin Laden and the victory of the United States!
Flags and bumper stickers were given out to everyone at this celebration, and everyone waving their flags to the music celebrating this great country was incredible.
The local DJs said a few words in honor of the occasion, including: Kelly Klaas and Jill Skeem from News Radio 1310 KLIX, Jackie and Terry Morgan from 95.7 KEZJ, Kendra Wolfe from 98.3 The Snake, and Nate Bird from KOOL 96.5.
