Steel Magnolia had a rough year last year — to say the least. With rumors of a potential split circulating, the duo’s fans were left wondering what was going to happen to the ‘Keep On Lovin’ You’ singers in 2012, both professionally and personally, since the two had set a tentative July 2012 wedding date. And while the duo aren’t giving any details of the status of their relationship, Joshua Scott Jones and Meghan Linsey assure fans that they’re back in the studio working on new music and preparing for their upcoming ACM Experience appearance.

Steel Magnolia fans got a nice surprise if they were paying close attention to the ABC’s crowd shots during last week’s CMA Awards in Nashville. Meghan Linsey was in the crowd, seated next to her duo partner/fiance Joshua Scott Jones. Jones had previously been in rehab dealing with undisclosed addictions.

When the members of Steel Magnolia agreed to join Reba McEntire on her All the Women I Am tour, they certainly didn’t count on vocalist Meghan Linsey having to handle the microphone alone while her partner, Joshua Scott Jones, entered rehab to deal with alcohol and substance abuse issues.

But as Linsey made clear in a recent interview, she and Jones are no strangers to struggle — and her long-standing admiration for Reba meant that she and the band would fulfill their touring obligations, no matter what.

They’re now engaged to be married, while also making up the rising country duo Steel Magnolia, with three top 40 singles and a pair of CMA Awards nominations on their growing list of achievements.

As their self-titled debut CD launches its fourth single, ‘Bulletproof,’ Jones and Linsey are preparing to join Reba McEntire, Edens Edge, and the Band Perry on the road this fall. But even as they look forward to entertaining those crowds, they’re also looking ahead to their next album.
