An Idaho man has been given five years of probation for his role in attempting to cover up the shooting death of a Washington man during a camping trip.
An Idaho State Police trooper who fired seven shots at a vehicle containing two teenage girls who authorities say tried to run over the trooper has been cleared of any wrongdoing.
A suspect died and two police officers were wounded in a shootout early Monday in the lakeside Idaho resort town of Sandpoint, authorities said. The shootout happened at about 3 a.m. after the officers responded to a call from a home and started talking with the person who made the call, Sandpoint Police Chief Corey Coon told reporters.
