So, the rapture is coming. Again. Yup, Harold Camping — the preacher whose prediction the world would end this past May 21 — now says the apocalypse is set for Friday, October 21.

In case you don't think that Harold Camping is crazy. Here is some more proof. According to Gawker, 89-year-old HAROLD CAMPING, the preacher who runs Family Radio and made the prediction, must realize that he screwed up. Right? Wrong.

Harold's full prediction claimed that May 21st was supposed to be the Rapture. The righteous would be called up to heaven, earthquakes would devastate Earth, and we'd all live in misery until God finally destroyed us on October 21st.

In 1987 college rock band R.E.M. wrote "It's the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine)," and 24 years later I feel curiously similar.

Recently a fringe Christian sect predicted the rapture is happening today. Yahoo News reports they made the same prediction in 1994 and were wrong, but this time they were serious. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it) they were wrong. Again.
