2012 Olympic runner Oscar Pistorius from South Africa is breaking barriers this year in London. Just this Saturday, the man known as “Blade Runner” competed in the 400-meter run and finished in second to move on to the semifinals this Sunday. And he did all this with two prosthetic racing legs.
August 2, 2012 Some people are already growing tired of the Olympics. I however am loving it. To me, there is nothing more amazing than seeing the discipline and determination of Olympic athletes and the families behind them . I feel that they bring so much hope to our country.

According to a couple of new surveys from Virtual Strategy / AskMen, the ones we'd cut are: Trampoline . . . badminton . . . synchronized swimming . . . table tennis . . . team handball . . . and archery. The sports we're most looking forward to watching are gymnastics, swimming, and track and field.

Vertical Dance, a British pole-dancing company, is petitioning the International Olympic Committee to get their sport recognized as a test event for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
According to the petition, which has so far garnered about 6,000 signatures, "Over 50 countries worldwide take part in lessons, workshops, conventions, expose, competitions and teacher training."
Get excited: The annual nude Olympics are set to take place this weekend in Australia's Noosa National Park.
Over 500 athletes will compete in traditional Olympic events like the marathon and the 100-meter dash, as well as nude Olympic exclusive events like the best butt competition and conga lines.
