The Number of Marriages That Last Has Gone Up
May 20, 2011 According to the Washington Post people are getting married later than they used to. And while that seems like it woud go againest everything that is tradiontal . . . it's actually making marriage stronger.
According to new data from the U.S. Census Bureau, 75% of couples who got married in the '90s celebrated a 10-year wedding anniversary. That's up a very significant 3% from couples who got married in the '80s.
The main reason for the increase is that people are getting married later in life. When people wait to get married they tend to be more mature, more financially secure, and more understanding of what they really want in a husband or wife.

The LA Times is reporting that the Oscar-winning actress married Jim Toth, a Hollywood agent, Saturday at her ranch in Ojai, CA. The ceremony reportedly lasted about half an hour, and included around 100 guests.
On the star-studded guest list were Renee Zellweger, Tobey Maguire, Robert Downey Jr. and Sean Penn, who attended the ceremony with rumored girlfriend Scarlett Johansson, according to PEOPLE.
