How Much is the Stuff in Your Purse Worth?

I believe that my grandma has thousands of dollars worth of stuff in her purse.  Her purse is the size of a suitcase and the stuff inside could be sold at antique stores.  But I'm pretty sure my purse has $5.00 worth of valuables in it. I may be wrong. According to a new survey from the Daily Mail, the average woman is carrying around THOUSANDS of dollars worth of stuff in her purse.

The survey found the average purse costs $400 and the stuff inside it is worth about $1,500.

How Many Cups of Coffee Will You Need Today?

Yesterday was a busy day...not only for parents but for kids too. Most kiddos had Halloween parties at their school and then attended Trick or Treat on Bish's Street. By the time my kids got in the car to go traditional trick-or-treating they were exhausted, but quickly recovered when they saw Grandma and Grandpa's house.

Pumpkin Thiefs

It happens every year. You take your kiddos to the pumpkin patch...they take an hour or two picking out the perfect pumpkin. You take the pumpkin home, place it on your front porch and then...someone steals it. We can all agree that stealing pumpkins is terrible, but its part of Halloween. There isn't much we can do about pumpkins getting stolen, or is there?

There are things that can go wrong during the trick-or-treating process. I've seen wardrobe malfunctions, cars driving too fast, kids destroying pumpkins, etc. But have you ever seen a child that desperately needs to use the bathroom? Worse yet...have you ever seen a child that desperately needs to use the bathroom on your front doorstep?

How Much Halloween Candy Have You Eaten?

Lets be honest...every year I tell my self I will not plow through a bag of Halloween candy. And every year at this time I am buying a second bag of candy because I ate the first one. The only way I have been successful in not eating a bag of candy is if I buy candy that I don't like.

Do You Have Any Tricks To Save Money on Halloween?

It's hard to keep costs down during Halloween especially if you have more than one child. A lot of moms save money by making their child's Halloween costumes. I'm not that talented. If I could sew more than the basic blanket I would try to make my children's costumes. Buy

Should Your Company Make Everyone’s Salary Public Knowledge?

There's NO bigger secret at work than how much money everyone makes. A small but growing number of companies around the U.S. are breaking that taboo . . . and making everyone's salary public knowledge.  WHY?  Here are the top three reasons.

1.  Trust.  When there's full transparency, no one can SUSPECT the company is ripping them off or paying them way less than everyone else . . . they'll know for sure if that's the case.  Public salaries can also earn more trust from clients and customers.

2.  Motivation.  There's no mystery in raise negotiations anymore.  Employees will know what other people are making and will have to step up to prove they're providing the same value to the company and deserve the same salary.

Are You Smarter Than a Park Ranger?

In late July a park ranger sent this picture to his boss asking him to confirm what type of animal is in the picture. The picture was taken in Heyburn State Park in Idaho. It appears that the animal resting on the log is a tiger. How would a tiger end up in Idaho? They decided the best course of action was to head into the park armed and look for the tiger.
