Hot Twin Falls Sunshine: Let's Cook Solar Hotdogs

Summer has arrived and brought with it an abundance of sunshine. My son Jack and I decided to put the sun to good use and make our own solar cooker to roast up some hotdogs. It was an easy and fun project, and only called for Jack to be patient long enough for the hotdog to cook, which is hard for a three year old.

I personally can't watch the

annual Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest...but that doesn't mean ESPN didn't cover the entire contest yesterday, in Coney Island, New York. There were some twists this year, though. Here's the full rundown for your gorging pleasure . . .

The New York Daily News reported the winner for the fifth straight year, 27-year-old JOEY CHESTNUT of San Jose, California won the contest. He ate SIXTY-TWO hot dogs and buns in 12 minutes. It was easily enough for the win but fell short of his world record of 68

Major League Baseball Parks Will Serve More Than 22 Million Hot Dogs

Baseball season kicked off with a few games yesterday, and a lot more games today. Now that the administrative stuff is out of the way, let's talk about what's REALLY important: Eating hot dogs at those games.

According to the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council . . . which sounds like an awesome council and one I'd like to be a part of . . . MLB parks will serve approximately 22,435,400 hot dogs this year.
