Last Thursday and Friday I spent at least a full 4 hours trying to play Mary Had a Little Lamb on the Google Les Paul Guitar.

In case you missed it, Google changed the logo on its homepage to look like a LES PAUL guitar, in honor of Les Paul's birthday. And you could actually use your mouse to strum the guitar and record songs. It was awesome. People loved it so much that according to a technology consulting company, it cost the world $268 MILLION in lost productivity. WOW!

The doodle, which was designed by engineers Kristopher Hom and Joey Hurst and doodle team lead Ryan Germick, will be up for 24 hours, and was released to celebrate what would have been Paul's 96th birthday. (Paul, a leader in the development of the solid-body electric guitar, died of complications from pneumonia in 2009.)
