Today's Google Doodle honors Richard Hollingshead Jr. who opened the first drive-in movie theater on Crescent Boulevard in Camden, New Jersey on June 6, 1933. The animated film attached to the doodle shows Drive-Ins at their peak in the 1950's and is pretty fantastic. Many communities have lost their drive-in theaters, but Twin Falls is lucky enough to have two.

A week or so ago there was a picture making the rounds on Facebook that was simply labeled "like if you know what this is." It made me feel a little old for recognizing it, but also very young. The photo was of the big metal speakers you used to have to hang on your window at the drive in movie.
