T.F. Police Say No Criminal Evidence Found in Reports of Alleged Child Enticement

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) – Police say they have not found any evidence of criminal activity related to recent reports of child enticement in Twin Falls.

Police are, however, reminding parents and their students to be vigilant and to continue to report suspicious activity.

Twin Falls police on Friday said they located a white van that was reported on Aug. 22 in the area of Sunrise Boulevard and Soup Avenue East and identified the occupants, but through their investigation detectives found that the occupants had legitimate reasons to be in the area at the time the vehicle was reported.

Police said they were unable to establish any evidence that any crimes had occurred.

The department received another report of an alleged child enticement incident Wednesday at O’Leary Middle School, but police say detectives again did not find evidence that any criminal activity had occurred.

Even though no criminal activity was discovered during these investigations, police remind parents to talk with their children about being aware of their surroundings and to immediately report suspicious or concerning activity to a trusted adult.

“We want parents to keep talking to their kids about being vigilant and aware of their surroundings,” Lt. Terry Thueson told News Radio 1310, noting that the department would rather investigate reports that don't turn up any criminal evidence than to let a suspicious activity go unreported. “We still want the public to be vigilant and to call us when they see something suspicious.”
