TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) – A Twin Falls man has been arrested for first degree arson after an incident at a residence on Tuesday night.

Police officers responded to call a little after 10 p.m. at 1463 Mountain View Dr., where it was reported that an adult male, identified as Lamont J. Dewitt, was at that home yelling threats. He then threw an object at the home that caused a fire. No one was injured in the incident, according to information from the Twin Falls Police Department.

Residents extinguished the blaze before police arrived, and officers later located Dewitt driving southbound in the 1000 block of Blue Lakes Boulevard North and attempted a traffic stop.

Dewitt did not stop and led police on a chase, prompting them to use “stop sticks” in the area of Eastland Drive North and Falls Avenue and causing Dewitt to stop his vehicle in the parking lot of the LDS Temple.

Officers located several incendiary devices, including bottles containing flammable liquid, in Dewitt’s vehicle. Dewitt was arrested and charged with first degree arson and felony eluding a police officer, according to the police department.
