Suspect in Lewiston Knifing Death Pleads Not Guilty

LEWISTON, Idaho (AP) — A judge is considering bond for a suspect who pleaded not guilty to a first-degree murder charge related to the death of a man investigators say sustained 128 knife wounds.

The Lewiston Tribune reports two 53-year-old men were drinking at a Lewiston home in late May when police say Patrick Nuxoll told them he fell asleep and woke up to find David Cramer dead. Investigators say Nuxoll killed Cramer with a knife.

Defense attorney Richard M. Cuddihy argued for a bond amount during the Wednesday hearing, saying Nuxoll is a long-standing resident who has the most to lose by not participating in his own defense. A Nez Perce County prosecutor asked that Nuxoll be held without bond until trial. The judge could set a bond this week.
