It’s funny how things come full circle. I remember my dad teaching me how to bait a hook like it was last week.

Today, I spend countless hours trying to help him program his remote and even more time trying to explain to him what “The Twitter” is.

Just because Dad is a little behind the times, doesn’t mean that his words of wisdom don’t ring true. I compiled a list of a few timeless phrases that Dad used to use on me.

“This is going to hurt me more than it hurts you.”

“Eat your dinner. Children are starving in China”

“I am sick… and tired”

“If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all”

“Ask your mother.”

“If everybody else painted their butt green on the courthouse steps, would you do that too?” (I still don’t get this one.)

“Think before you speak”

This is just a start. I need your help to finish this list. What did your dad used to say to you that stands out as one of those timeless phrases? Comment below.
