If you're one to follow the Final Fantasy series, but you're getting bored with all the remakes that Square Enix has been putting out, there's some good news coming.

Square Enix has recently come out with a statement saying that it's soon revealing a new RPG for console. "Right now, we're working on a new RPG specifically for consoles and it isn't a remake," Yosuke Matsuda, company president, told Famitsu in a recent interview. Gematsu reports that he later went on to say, "Just so we're clear, we also still have a lot of titles in the pipeline for not just consoles, but also smartphones and PCs." Square Enix seems to want to expand its varieties of games. "I can't talk about what platform those other titles are going to be on yet, whether they'll be on console or mobile," Matsuda admitted. "But I believe we should have a wide variety of games to announce after the new year arrives."

If you're excited about the changes to Square Enix, you can possibly catch some sneak peaks at Geoff Keighley's The Game Awards or Sony's PlayStation Experience which are both coming up in December. Until then, you'll just have to wait patiently for what Matsuda has said will be "a lot to show for both Japan and the overseas markets."
