Sony Hints The Last of Us is Coming to PlayStation 4

Fireflies rejoice, a manager at Sony has stepped forward claiming that Naughty Dog's Cordyceps-based, post apocalyptic world is being optimized for a PlayStation 4 release.

According to IGN, Sercan Sulun, a PlayStation Eurasian Software Market Manager, has said in an interview with the Turkish gaming site, Multiplayer, that The Last of Us is going to brought over to PlayStation 4. Surprisingly, this optimized port will be arriving sooner than we were ever expecting.

IGN has confirmed the translations of Sulun's Turkish interview, indicating that the Sony manager has indeed said that by this summer, The Last of Us will be on PlayStation 4. Sulun also says that while an actual sequel might not be happening for quite some time, the PlayStation 4 edition of this masterpiece will also include the "Left Behind" downloadable content. The PS4 edition of The Last of Us will be available as a PlayStation Network download and as a physical, retail copy.

Given the success of Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, it would make sense that The Last of Us would be ported over in an optimized way for PS4. With the exception of Infamous: Second Son, The Order: 1886 and a few sports/racing titles, there are no announced top tier, system exclusives on the way for PlayStation 4 for the rest of the year, despite PS4's clear lead in the next-gen console war. The inclusion of The Last of Us would be a welcome addition in the PS4 library.
