In late December the Twin Falls City Planning and Zoning Commission granted a special use permit to Magic Valley Flight Simulation to construct a zip-line in the Snake River.  The vote to grant the permit was 7 to 1.  That decision is now being appealed by a resident near the affected area.

Twin Falls attorney John Lezamiz claims in his appeal filed on January 11th that the decision violated city code claiming that Canyon Springs Road, the only road that would serve the zip line business in the canyon, was not adequate for the traffic.  He also claims the lack of notice to affected property owners and an alleged conflict of interest on behalf of one of the P&Z commission members.  The matter will be taken up by the City Council at the meeting next Monday.  The Council will have to decide if it upholds the P&Z Commission’s ruling, if it supports more conditions on the permit or if it will send the matter back to the Commission for additional consideration.
