TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX)- A small plane flipped after its pilot tried to abort at take-off late Saturday afternoon in Twin Falls County. According to County Spokesperson Lori Stewart the plane overturned on a private airstrip at 2559 Sunridge Circle at 7:30.

The pilot, Gordon Wood, 60, of Layton Utah, was trying to take off, when he aborted and started a right hand turn at the end of the field.   The propeller hit the ground which caused the plane to flip over onto its top.

Wood and his passenger Kareen Wood, 57, were not hurt. Wood told authorities he had made several successful take-offs and landings from the same field earlier in the day. The aircraft, a Piper Cub, had been modified to make it more capable in rough field operations including large tundra tires.
