Small Fire Forces Evacuation of Filer Assisted Living Center

Filer, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - Residents of the Country Living assisted living facility near Filer were evacuated for a short time this Wednesday afternoon after a small fire broke out in a room.

The fire department was sent to 1852 East 3900 North at 12:54 pm when a fire alarm was activated. The fire was contained to a small area near a garbage can. At this time officials are not sure what caused the blaze.

The fire and smoke was contained to one area. Workers had the fire controlled by the time the fire department arrived using extinguishers. All the residents were allowed to return to their rooms.
