My family is a soccer family and the Fall season starts this weekend. I have coached my son and his team since they started playing in Kindergarten - and they are really good! In the last few seasons they have only lost 3 or 4 games out of about 30 which is awesome. The problem is that this last year they realized that they are really good, but they get the same award as the other teams they beat.

They aren't sad about it - but to them it was kind of like when a ref makes a bad call, you know it is wrong but you just have to deal with it.

Is that fair to the kids? I know it would make other kids sad to not get a trophy at the end of the season...but isn't the point of a trophy to show that you won? If you think they all deserve a trophy - at what point does that end and you have to introduce them to the disappointment of not getting an award?
