Sheryl Crow Granted Restraining Order Against Stalker

A Los Angeles judged issued a restraining order for Sheryl Crow against Phillip Gordon Sparks, an apparent stalker who has threatened to shoot the ‘Collide’ singer.

According to the court-appointed order, Sparks must stay at least 100 yards away from Crow, and cannot attempt to contact her, her family or any of her friends and colleagues, Huffington Post reports. In a sworn statement, the 50-year-old singer and mother-of-two acknowledged Sparks’ threats, admitting that she is wary of the stalker after he posted profane online rants, claiming that Crow had broken into his home and stole money from him.

The singer — who announced earlier this year that she has a benign brain tumor — became even more fearful after Sparks recently visited an entertainment union office and told a worker he was going to “just shoot her,” meaning Crow. The Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists worker affirmed the July 16 event in a written declaration that accompanied Crow’s affidavit.

Also in the statement, the worker claimed Sparks also threatened to shoot film executive Harvey Weinstein because he believed they were filming him and stole millions of dollars from him.

Crow’s temporary order against her stalker was granted on July 24, with a hearing to obtain a permanent, three-year protective order scheduled to take place on Aug. 14 in Santa Monica, California.
