Celebrating the one-year anniversary of Shadowrun Returns, Harebrained Schemes has announced that its Dragonfall expansion is going to release as a standalone title.

Harebrained Schemes founders Mitch Gitelman and Jordan Weisman have announced that Shadowrun Returns' Dragonfall expansion is being released in a standalone Director's Cut. Shadowrun: Dragonfall originally launched this past January for PC. This announcement was made on the one-year anniversary of the release of Shadowrun Returns on Steam. This standalone version will let you save anywhere, give you a more open story and a lot of places to explore.

Gitelman and Weisman decided to make Dragonfall available as a standalone release because its story is completely separate from Shadowrun Returns, and many players wanted to go straight into Dragonfall without having to worry about the core game. Harebrained Schemes believes that no game is ever complete, so they will continue to add new missions, art, characters and other additional features for both Shadowfall Returns and Dragonfall post-launch.

Dragonfall will be available sometime in September via Steam, GOG and Humble.
