The National Weather Service in Boise has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Gooding County in south central Idaho, northwestern Jerome County, Twin Falls County, southeastern Elmore County, and south central Camas County until 6:30 pm.

Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing quarter size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph as well as heavy rain. This storm was located over Hagerman, or 13 miles southwest of Gooding, and moving northeast at 25 mph.

This severe thunderstorm will be near:

  • Bliss around 5:50 pm
  • Wendell around 6:00 pm
  • Gooding around 6:20 pm
  • Flat Top Butte around 6:30 pm

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions

Severe thunderstorms produce damaging winds, destructive hail, deadly lightning and very heavy rain. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of your home or business. Heavy rains flood roads quickly so do not drive into areas where water covers the Road.
