Scotty McCreery‘s hardly having any trouble scoring success, especially when it comes to his latest single, ‘The Trouble With Girls.’ The tune has now reached gold certification for sales exceeding 500,000 copies sold, according to the RIAA.

‘The Trouble With Girls’ is McCreery’s second single to reach gold certification, following his previous release and first single, ‘I Love You This Big,’ both of which can be found on his debut album, ‘Clear as Day.’

“Having the first single go gold was crazy, but having the second single go gold and to see the response it is getting in our shows is incredible,” McCreery beams. “I wish I could come up with better words than ‘wild’ and ‘incredible,’ because this is really special. It’s a huge honor. I’m glad the single is doing well, and I’m looking forward to keep singing it on the road.”

But his singles are not the only successful releases coming from his camp. ‘Clear as Day’ has already been certified platinum, impressively just three months after its release — reaching sales of more than one million. The album hit stores back in October and topped both the Billboard Top 200 albums chart and the Top Country Albums chart. The feat made the ‘American Idol‘ winner the youngest man in history to debut at No. 1 on the all-genre chart with his premiere album.

Sales of ‘Clear As Day’ also gave McCreery the achievement of having the highest number of sales of any country solo artist’s album released in the past 12 months, which led to him locking in the top slot on the charts for six straight weeks.

McCreery’s albums and singles will more than likely continue to sell like hot-cakes, seeing how the young star is currently criss-crossing the country with Brad Paisley on his high-profile Virtual Reality Tour.
