OFFICIAL: Sporting Goods Giant Drops Idaho Opening Date

Last year, we learned that mega sporting goods store SCHEELS was opening a location in Meridian, Idaho, and was slated to open in the Spring of 2024. The sporting goods giant recently dropped an opening date and enthusiasts of all things outdoors couldn't be more excited.

If you’ve never been to a SCHEELS, its magnitude is hard to explain. Think of the largest sporting goods store you’ve ever been in. Now imagine that same store but even bigger. Now double that. Now picture it as its own shopping universe with stores within stores, a cafe, an aquarium, and an amusement park. That about sums it up, but it's even bigger than you’d imagine when you see it in person. 

Where is SCHEELS first Idaho store located?

Construction of the new SCHEELS location is near completion at 700 S Wayfinder Avenue in Meridian, Idaho. After months of construction, only the finishing touches remain before the store will be ready for its first customers. The Meridian SCHEELS is also hiring for full and part-time positions in every area from floor sales to department managers.

When is SCHEELS Meridian going to open?

Originally expected to open in the Spring of 2024, SHCEELS did not disappoint. There was a recent celebration and announcement of an opening date of April 6, 2024.

Other SCHEELS locations

It will certainly be nice to have an Idaho location opening soon. But if you simply cannot wait, the next closest location in the region would be the Sandy SCHEELS in Utah.
