For a while now there has been discussion going around that the Motor-Vu and Grand-Vu Drive-Ins may shut down after this summer.

The reason is because the movie industry has been in the process of switching from film to digital.  In a nut shell, they aren't making film anymore.  The movies we watch in the theater run from hard drives on a digital projection system.

It costs about $80,000 for a drive-in to upgrade to digital projection and America's drive-ins, including our own are coming to terms and facing the possibility of shutting down.

Honda has begun a project to try to save our drive-ins.  They have launched a program called Project Drive-In.  It's a drive-in fund and Honda will be donating 5 digital projectors.

Your votes will decide where they go and the Motor-Vu Drive-In in Twin Falls is a contender.

You can vote daily on Honda's Project Drive-in website and share this post with as many people as you can.
