RUPERT, Idaho (KLIX) – A Rupert woman has died after a two-vehicle crash in Minidoka County. The crash happened a little after 8:30 a.m. Thursday.

According to the Idaho State Police, 34-year-old Rupert resident Jane Bates was traveling eastbound on 300 S. in a 1994 Chrysler Concord, while Fabiola Aguirre, 27, also of Rupert, was traveling westbound on 300 S. in a 2004 Land Rover Discovery when the two vehicles collided head on.

Bates succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Aguirre was transported by ground ambulance to Minidoka Memorial Hospital in Rupert.

The street was closed in both directions for three hours. Bates and Aguirre were not wearing their seatbelts, according to ISP. The crash is still being investigated.
