It’s nice that someone has finally noticed. Rupert was called out being one of Idaho’s most historic cities. Tell us something we don’t know.
"It’s not just the Wilson Theater that earned Rupert this nod"
Kudos to Only In Your State for compiling “8 Historic Towns in Idaho That Look Like Something Straight Out of the Old West”. They ranked Rupert as one of the Idaho cities with the richest histories.
It wasn’t that long ago that we shared a video tour of the Wilson Theater in Rupert. It was built almost a century ago, but still maintains much of its character through renovations that have taken place over recent years.
Rupert is an interesting choice for the Only In Your State list as most of the other Idaho cities used to be mining towns.
It’s not just the Wilson Theater that earned Rupert this nod. The entire downtown square and the great condition of many historic buildings all played their part.
Check out the complete Only In Your State blog as it’s a worthwhile read.
