RUPERT, Idaho (KLIX)- A new company is headed to the Mini-Cassia area. Southern Idaho Economic Development announced Calva Products Incorporated will build a plant in Rupert. The California based company makes infant animal milk formulas.

Calva will use other companies cheese byproducts  to make the formula. The plant is planned next to Brewster West LLC’s facility. The new company plans to open in the spring of 2013. Calva’s estimated capital investment is expected to exceed $9 million dollars. Minidoka County
Commissioners approved a property tax exemption for the companies facility for the next five years. Calva has been making animal milk formulas for about 60 years.
