SHOSHONE, Idaho (KLIX) Eleven miles of roadway will be ripped up and repaved this week between Gooding and Shoshone.

Drivers will see the work on the east side of Gooding on U.S. 26 starting Friday. The Idaho Transportation Department announced work on the road should smooth it out as well as make it last longer. Drivers should expect to drive on gravel during the construction.

A pilot car will guide traffic between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. through the work area. Work is set to be complete by the later part of October. Western Construction Inc., of Boise, is the contractor for the $3.6 million project.
