Report: Hugh Grant Almost Replaced Charlie Sheen on ‘Two and a Half Men’
Deadline is exclusively reporting that British actor Hugh Grant was “deep in final negotiations” to replace Charlie Sheen on the long running – and currently in limbo – CBS sitcom ‘Two and a Half Men.’ However, at the last minute, Grant pulled out, due to creative differences.
Grant was reportedly being offered more than $1 million per-episode to join the show. CBS was hoping to find an A-list replacement in time for its upfronts presentation next week in New York.
‘Two and a Half Men’ has been put on hold ever since CBS unceremoniously fired Sheen in March, due to his erratic behavior and comments made about series creator Chuck Lorre. According to Deadline, Lorre only wants to continue doing the show “if he can find the right actor and get excited about that.”
