POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) — The National Weather Service says five communities in eastern and central Idaho experienced record high temperatures on Saturday. The Idaho State Journal reports Pocatello, Idaho Falls, Burley, Challis and Stanley all broke records. The weather service expects record-breaking temperatures to continue through Monday. Temperatures could hit 100 degrees both days. Pocatello hit 98 degrees on Saturday, breaking the previous record of 96 for the day, set in 2002.

Idaho Falls' high on Saturday was 97 degrees, breaking the previous June 27 record of 93 degrees set in 2013. Burley's high on Saturday was 98 degrees, beating the previous record of 93 degrees set in 2002. Temperatures in Stanley reached 91 degrees Saturday, breaking the prior record of 87 degrees set in 1926.
