(KLIX)- Rain on Friday has helped reduce the progress of the Cave Canyon Fire. Fire officials say evacuation orders are still in effect for Rock Creek Canyon and Dry Creek Road. The rain gave much needed relief for fire fighters. So far the Cave Canyon fire has burned roughly 80,000 acres. Crews will continue burnout operations through the weekend.

Other fires in the Minidoka Fire Complex:

Deer Hollow Fire:  Fire managers are optimistic they will be able to hold the fire today given yesterday’s moisture over the area and bucket drops from a helicopter.  The latest acreage is 4,027.

Hot Well Fire: Crews are continuing to extinguish any hotspots along the edge of the fire line.  The fire is holding at 3,056 acres as firefighters continue to secure the edge.
