TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) – The public is invited to comment at an upcoming meeting by the Bureau of Land Management.

The BLM’s Twin Falls District Resource Advisory Council (RAC) will meet at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, April 21, at the Best Western Sawtooth Inn in Jerome. A formal comment period will be held from 9:45 to 10:15 a.m.

According to a news release by the agency, the forum provides a good opportunity for people to ask questions of the citizen-based advisory council or to make comments that may assist RAC members in advising BLM regarding the current planning efforts.

After a new member orientation, several topics will be presented, including an update on the Craters of the Moon National Monument Draft Environmental Impact Statement and an overview on the sage grouse EIS implementation strategy, among others. Reports in the afternoon will include current events and activities at the Burley, Shoshone and Jarbidge field offices.

The local RAC is a 15-member advisory panel that provides advice and recommendations to the BLM on resource and land management issues for about 3.9 million acres of federal public lands within 10 counties in south-central Idaho, according to the news release.
