On July 5, 2013 at approximately 2:20 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle property damage crash on US-93 at milepost 24, 2 miles south of Hollister.

Drew Jones, 24, of Twin Falls, was southbound on US-93 in a 1995 Mitsubishi Galant. Jones was attempting to pass an RV on a slight incline when he saw a vehicle approaching in the northbound lanes.

Jones drove off the left hand side of the road to avoid the oncoming vehicle. When he attempted to come back on the road, he lost control of his vehicle. The Galant came to rest sideways in the middle of the road.

Leopoldo Hernandez, 50, of Peoria, Arizona, was northbound on US-93 in a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder pulling a trailer. Hernandez struck the rear of Jones' vehicle.

The northbound lanes of US-93 were blocked for approximately two hours. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. This crash is still under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
