If you're looking to build your own worlds with your friends in Project Spark, then you'll be elated to know that you'll be able to do so for free.

An article on CVG points to a thread on Reddit in which community manager Mike Lescault reveals that Project Spark will be available to play for free on PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. "You do not need an Xbox Live Gold account to play Project Spark," Lescault said.

A skeptical fan kept asking questions, just to make sure that Lescault truly meant Project Spark would be free on all three platforms. "No. You will not need a gold subscription to play Project Spark for free on any platform," Lescault responded. Originally, it was believed you would need an Xbox Live Gold subscription to enjoy Project Spark for free, but this is good news for everyone looking forward to the DIY title.

Project Spark is currently in development and will feature sandbox-like, world-building gameplay that takes advantage of secondary devices such as Smart Glass-enabled iPads and tablets. It will also use the Xbox One's Kinect for audio and motion-based input.

No release date has been announced, but we'll update you as more information about Project Spark is made available.
