Project Spark Officially Launching in October
Microsoft’s upcoming Project Spark, the make-your-own-game game for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC, will see an official retail release in October, officially ending the beta that’s been going on since December 2013.
The full Xbox One disc version will be called the “Project Spark Starter Pack,” and it will include a ton of premium content for the game right from the chute, such as the first sci-fi pack “Galaxies: First Contact,” the warrior champion Sir Haakon “Hawk” the Knight, “Champions Quest: Void Storm,” the first episode of an epic campaign adventure, and more. Also, everything included on the disc will also be available digitally on the same day, letting those in the beta take advantage as well.
Microsoft’s statement offered that Project Spark was “one of the most unique, innovative games available and can be downloaded for free on Xbox One and Windows 8.1.” The beta is still available now, and those who join the beta will simply have to download an update when the full release hits, carrying over every credit and creation they’ve earned.
We’re glad Project Spark is making it out of beta and into a full release, as we love games that let us flex our creative muscles. We did notice that the upcoming Conker update is nowhere to be found in the announcement, and we hope he makes the October launch date too. We miss that little guy.
