Power Outages Reported In Twin Falls

Twin Falls, Idaho (KLIX) - Power has been restored to approximately 3,200 Idaho Power customers in Twin Falls.

12:04 am | Jan. 16: Idaho Power reports that power has been restored for all affected customers. The outage was caused by a tree branch that had been blown into a line and tripped a breaker in a substation. This affected multiple distribution lines coming out of the substation.

11:56 am | Jan. 16: Some businesses in the area of Blue Lakes Blvd are reporting that their power has been restored. Idaho Power has not made a statement or updated their outage message.

The power outage was reported at 10:56 am (Jan. 16). Idaho Power Crews found that the outage was caused by a tree branch that had been blown into a line and tripped a breaker in a substation. Areas affected in Twin Falls stretched north to south from San Larue Ave (near Sawtooth Elementary) to 4th Ave E, and east to west from Eastland Rd all the way to Harrison.

Businesses in the area of 5 Points on Blue Lakes Blvd, and traffic signals were impacted by the outage.

An outages has also been reported in Jerome--in the area of 100 south and 300 east--due to an accident. Crews are currently on site.
