The Salvation Army’s Lt. Troy Cook said over the past several weeks the store, which is closed for renovation, has had items stolen from the property and there's been some vandalism.

Security cameras were installed earlier this year because people would often drop off donation items at the building after the store closed for the day, leaving their donation outside. But that left the items susceptible to damage or theft by others. Donations should be dropped off only during open business hours. Now, Cook said, even the cameras have been stolen and there’s been some damage to the property.

Cook said it is frustrating because The Salvation Army tries to help the community’s less fortunate, and repairing damaged property takes money away from services the organization provides.

The building currently is being remodeled, with plans tentatively to reopen in March, but Cook said police will continue to patrol the area in and around the store. If you see anything suspicious at the store, call the Twin Falls Police Department at 735-4357.
